Three Kinds of The Singleness
59Many people sometime misunderstand what does being “single” mean. They need to understand that the single life is a unique option. As opposed to that, many people assume that the single life considers a part of the negative stereotypes about being single because they think that a variety of singles live happy, satisfied, and useful lives. But, singleness means that anyone of marriageable age who is not married. Let’s explain each kind of singleness:
Single for all the whole life:
- A person who never gets married. It doesn’t mean that he/she MUST continue to be single forever. It’s an option for her/him to continue to live a single life happily.
Single for awhile:
- A person will be able to get married sometime in the future. It means that he/she can choose to get married later. He/she is allowed to think about getting married or not. It’s his/her decision, not yours.
Single again:
- The Widowed, as a person’s spouse has died.
- The Divorced, as a person and a spouse are no longer married and both have ended their marriage.
- The Separated, as a person who is still married but is not able to stay with her/his spouse as the cause of the employment, abandonment, and a variety of reasons.
Now, most people have the right to choose their single lives; sometime they can change their minds to not stay single forever. Sometime they feel like that they want to be single as a result of feeling peace and of having some privacy for oneself.
On an encouragement note, you need to respect a person who wants to continue being single because he/she has the right to decide what she/he wants to do for her life. If you are a single and prefer to be a single for awhile (or for all the whole life), then it's okay because it's your decision for your life.
